Culture and art is a rather specific direction, if we describe it
in terms of employment and professional development. All
over the world this creative direction is characterized by
three peculiarities: increased requirements to the level of
education (to become a real professional in the sphere of
culture and art one has to study and improve for a long time),
high level of individual labor activity (freelance or own
business), comparatively small salaries (except for
celebrities).
Work in the field of culture and art can be divided into
several areas.
Creative and theatrical arts. This is the largest group, which
includes more than half of all occupations in this field. It
includes: music art; instrumental art; vocal art; conducting;
composition; musicology; theater art; actor's art; theater
directing; scenography; drama; theater studies; ballet;
choreography; fine arts; painting; graphic arts; sculpture;
architecture; literary creation; film art; direction, producing
and sound directing of cinema and television.
Technical and camerawork, which includes various technical
specialties for film and television production, librarians,
translators, etc.
Heritage preservation - this includes librarians, archivists, and
restorers (of architecture, painting, sculpture, graphics,
decorative and applied art);
Cultural management - managers of libraries, exhibition
galleries, museums; managers of the film and painting
industry; and managers of social and cultural activities.
Design, which includes both interior art and arts and crafts,
as well as such a profession as a stylist.

Any person who works in these areas can consider himself an
"art person". And it doesn't mean doing creative work at all.
One can either directly create creative content (e.g., being a
writer), or create creative products (e.g., being a publisher or
magazine editor), or "bring culture to the masses" (e.g.,
owning a bookstore).
Overall, we cannot say that the "Culture and the Arts" field is
booming. The competition for jobs in this market is quite
high. However, the best creative graduates can actually find
their dream job. If you're a creative designer, why not try
your hand at a major advertising company with the prospect
of being on the staff of one of the best advertising agencies,
such as Leo Burnett? But you can work not only at an
advertising agency, but also at major companies in a variety
of industries, such as creating concepts for new cars.
