The Colosseum architecture

The Colosseum, that is, the Flavian amphitheater, is an artifact of ancient Roman architecture, some of which seem to be mostly famous and majestic buildings of the Classical world.  The construction of the amphitheater lasted more than eight years, it began back in the 72nd year of our era under the Emperor Vespasian, in the 80th year of our era, the Colosseum was consecrated by Tsar Titus.   The Colosseum is a structure of Classical Rome, the purpose of which is covered in the amusement of people (gladiatorial fights, bullfighting).  It was designed for 50 thousand spectators, not taking into account the premises for personnel, zoological and gladiators, and yes, technical, instrumental and weaponry.

The Colosseum amphitheater had 80 entrances, which were framed by arches.  Around 75 rough marches were intended in the property of providing independent and swift access to visual areas.  Places for the sake of contemplators were built around the entire perimeter for four tiers.  In the first tier there were twenty lines with benches, and on the second there were 16 rows.  The difference in the third tier was the biting workings of the surface, some along the circumference were erected above other levels.  It had a portico, some encircling the amphitheater around its entire circumference.  The fourth level was equipped with pilasters (protrusions from the walls).  In case of bad atmospheric agreements, the Colosseum was protected by an awning that was held to the masts near the support of the ropes.  They were at the top of the wall.

The Colosseum or Flavian amphitheater is known not only for its enormous dimensions, but also for its sophisticated decorative and artistic design.  As has been said before, he complained of marble and travertine stone, which were being adapted for the decoration of the room.   Large-sized travertine and marble were used for the decoration of units and for the cladding of floor coverings.   Specialized space was used for decorative mosaic decoration.  On the third tier, archaeologists found multicolored plaster, and fragments of finishing aggregates of black and red stone were found.  It is not difficult to guess that in the days of Classical Rome, the amphitheater had an interior decoration, which was carried out in red, blackest and blue colors.

As for the decoration of the facade of the Colosseum, it was done in the version of masonry from facing aggregates and decorative and architectural ingredients from white travertine flint.

This colossal amphitheater of the Roman Empire revealed with specialized clarity the independent bias of the Romans' perception of their beloved spectacle.  The performance was framed by an excellent building frame, which activated in the viewer the very emotions and feelings that were needed for the high government: the creation of festivity, the intelligibility of the spectacle for the huge themes of the Romans, and joining them into a certain mass for the sake of confrontation with the gladiators dying in the arena.  Finally, the serene crowd of the Colosseum intended as a sign of the inviolability of such an order, some of them offered the holiday to the Roman crowd.
