Karkarala state national natural Park

Location: the Park is located on the territory of karkaralinsky district of Karaganda region.
Description: karkarala national nature Park was established in 1988. The territory of the Park covers the most picturesque mountain-steppe massifs.
Description
Karkaralinsky national nature Park was established in 1988 with the purpose of protecting mountain and forest landscapes and unique natural objects, developing tourism and improving recreation of the population. The area is 90,323 hectares. the Park is located on the territory of karkaralinsky district of Karaganda region. Currently, the Park is managed by the forestry and hunting Committee of the Ministry of agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The territory of the Park covers the most picturesque mountain-steppe massifs, occupies the low mountains of Karkaraly and Kent, located in the Eastern part of the Kazakh melkosopochnik. Karkaralinsk-Kent mountain site consists of five relatively isolated from each other mountain groups: Buguly, Sankosha, Matina, Airtau and Kent.
The karkarala mountains and the Kentish massif have a noticeable landscape asymmetry: their Northern slopes are steeper and noticeably richer in springs and vegetation than the southern and Western ones. They are ridges that form a network of rock ridges and peaks, separated from each other by deep gorges, inter-mountain valleys and hollow-uvalistymi plains.
The highest height of the karkaralinsky mountains is 1403 m, and the Kent mountain range is 1469 m. in the distant past, more powerful ridges rose here, which eventually collapsed and divided into many small ridges and hills. Their steep slopes are strongly dissected by erosion, and rocky ridges alternate with deep gorges and valleys. Exposed in many places, granite slabs seem to be superimposed on each other in the form of stone "mattresses", and some rocky remains have the most bizarre outlines.
The mountain gorges run down the keys that give rise to small rivers. In the karkarala mountains, the largest of them are the Karkaraly (with tributaries Tulkuli, Tasbulak), Kendara, Zharym, Kerala, Kopa, Alexander, Ayushat, Kengir streams, in the Kent mountains — Kyzylkenysh, Kadyr, Ozen.
The territory of the district is characterized by a wide distribution of river valleys, natural meadows and lake basins, as well as areas of smoothed melkosopochnik. On the territory of the Park there are a number of picturesque lakes – Shaitankol, Pool, Arable Land, Ulkenkol. There are also small reservoirs, as well as water-filled pits in granite rocks. Rivers and lakes are fed mainly by rain and snow, less often by underground water.
On the territory of the Karkarala national natural Park there is a monument of medieval history-the Kyzyl-Kensh Palace, which, according to scientists, was a Buddhist sanctuary.
