The maximum permissible cost for food was set in Almaty for the duration of the quarantine. Today, out of 64 food items, only 19 goods are included in the category of socially significant ones. Of these, nine items have fixed prices, which should not change. Correspondent of Almaty.tv Dias Makhambetov walked through the markets and supermarkets to personally make sure that the price rules were observed and the availability of products on the shelves.
For the period of emergency, fixed prices were set for wheat flour and "brick" bread, rice, buckwheat, beef, eggs, sunflower oil and salt. These are the types of products that are most in demand. And it is on them that the price has grown the most since the beginning of the year. In order to stabilize the cost of these goods, the city has set price limits.
“And so, now we are inside a trade and retail network and the first product we asked for was flour. Well, the flour here is wheat flour, of the highest grade, but we never found the first grade in the list of goods at marginal prices, ”the journalist says.
This is the meat department. There is both minced meat and pulp. And here is the brisket of beef. 100 grams costs 210 tenge. A kilogram will cost 2,100 tenge.
Now we are standing at the shelves with sunflower oil and at the recommended maximum price - 434 tenge per liter, I found only one name of oil. This is Anenskoe oil. It costs 402 tenge.
And these are horns. The cost of one kilogram is estimated at 174 tenge. They are present in sufficient numbers here. They are already prepackaged.
We also got to the shelves with bread. And here there are various types of bread and products in sufficient quantities. But the first grade tin bread, apparently, is not enough.
There is enough rice in the store. Polished rice. The cost of a kilogram is 298 tenge. Also prepackaged.
Here we took buckwheat. Let's weigh it. A little more than a kilogram. The cost of a kilogram is 299 tenge.
And in the end, we decided to look for eggs of category 1 at a price not higher than 367 tenge. As you can see, such were found. Here they are.
After conducting a little monitoring, we made sure that there is no shortage of products in this branch of the largest trade and retail network. In general, the cost of essential goods is within the established norms. And in order to prevent prices from being artificially raised in an emergency, government agencies conduct a daily check. Violators face a substantial fine.
“Working groups have been created from among the employees of the prosecutor's office, the Department of Internal Affairs and the regional akimat. These groups will travel to retail facilities and already work with retail facilities to inflate these prices. If a shopping facility overstated the price, then an administrative fine of 100 MCI will be imposed on it, ”said Damir Tazabek, head of the department of the city administration of entrepreneurship and investment.
In the event that the violation repeats, the amount of the fine will increase to 200 MCI - 530 200 tenge. Such thorough checks will be carried out among both point-of-sale sellers and food suppliers. And for consumers, a platform www.dosmart.kz has been created - "Commodity safety during the quarantine period." The web service allows you to monitor prices for socially important products and track its quantity in warehouses. This will ensure timely delivery of products between regions.
