In Kazakhstan, owners of mopeds and scooters will have to obtain a driver's license
The official document provides for the introduction of new driving licenses, in which new categories and subcategories of vehicles will appear, reports the Alau Information Portal .
At the end of summer, a new law on road traffic will be adopted in Kazakhstan, and with it a new type of driver's license will be introduced. The law will be in accordance with the international Vienna convention on road traffic. It should be noted that now in Kazakhstan there will be 7 driver categories and 6 subcategories. The latter will be intended for persons whose vehicles are not yet registered with the police. The A1 category will include scooters and mopeds.

“All road users, including scooters, must have a license. They need to know the rules of the road. Since you are a road user, you are a driver, you must know the rules. Everyone must have a certificate. Here is the current law, to be honest, we have been waiting for it for a long time, ”says Yuri Kuznetsov, director of the driving school.
Kuznetsov noted that today there are much more people who want to get a driver's license with categories A and A1 in driving schools. He hopes that now all scooter owners will decide to get a driver's license with the right category. One of these is Maxim Leshchina. The young man loves motorcycles. That's why I went to a driving school.
“There has long been such a craving for motorcycles. There is such a desire. Hunt, of course, to make it official. To be allowed. So I had to go to a driving school, ”says Maxim.
Honored Master of Sports in Motocross Roman Sarkisov sees another problem. In his opinion, in Kazakhstan, in particular in Kostanay, there is a lack of technically equipped motorcycle amateur clubs. Roman notes that young people now have nowhere to splash out their adrenaline. Hence, there are many scooters on the roads of the regional center.
“Many parents do not understand when they buy scooters for 9-year-old children. Surprise when I suggest - come to our motorcycle club. Interestingly, you sell and you dissuade. Although the road is the number one danger, ”Sarkisov stressed.
It should be noted that for the first time in Kazakhstan all vehicles that can reach speeds of over 50 kilometers per hour will be registered - these are mopeds, ATVs, motorcycles. Citizens of the republic who have reached the age of 16 will be allowed to operate such transport. Existing driver's licenses will be valid until their expiration date.
The police say that those who ignored the rules will be punished. For example, for the absence of a driver's license of category A1, a fine of 15 MCI is threatened, which is almost 28 thousand tenge. It is worth noting that another 9 thousand will be added for not registering a scooter or moped.
